Since making a career change, I’ve been looking to change most of my skincare products. It was challenging looking for products that are affordable and can do a good job for my acne prone skin. Then, through more research, I came across the miracle of the French pharmacy products…
Why French Beauty Products?
You might be asking, “What’s so great about drugstore French beauty products?“. Everything, imo. Almost all their products are gentle and made for sensitive skin, they are affordable and the French always look effortlessly flawless. Isn’t that enough to make you want to buy them all? They are so raved about by beauty bloggers, celebrities and makeup artists that I got curious to try them out.
Once upon a time, these products can only be bought in France. After learning the phenomenon of the French drugstore, many go to Paris armed with an empty suitcases. Fortunately, most of these French drugstore brands are available in most countries now so gone are the days where you’d have to carry baggages full of them in. But of course, they’re more affordable in France and they have a wider selection. Since my sister Lisa, travels to Paris quite often, I got her to get me some of these babies while some I bought from our local pharmacies like Watsons and Guardian.

What I think about Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Moisturizing Stick?
NUXE Reve de Miel Lip Moisturizing Stick moisturizes but disappears into the lips not leaving that sheen of grease on top of it like most lip balms do. Great if for girls who love matte lipsticks and men. Smells of lemons.
Avene Thermal Spring Water
Description: Key element for sensitive, hypersensitive, allergic and irritated skin.
Ingredients: Avene Thermal Spring Water (Avene Aqua), Nitrogen.
What I think about Avene Thermal Spring Water?
Avene Thermal Spring Water multi-purpose product that can be used for an instant ‘pick me up’. Can be sprayed onto your skin when you are feeling dehydrated or hot, on sunburns, facial redness, after hair removal, after a work-out and while you’re travelling.
Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre
Description: A wonderful care product – a real beauty secret, favoured by dermatologists for decades, a combination of ingredients, of natural origin with recognised virtues, rich in essential fatty acids and vitamins. Provides the skin with all the nutrients and water needed for its balance and protects it from aggression. Moisturised and nourished, the skin is supple and elastic once more. It is plumped, smooth and incredibly soft. Signs of dryness and discomfort disappear, leaving the skin soothed. Its creamy milk texture leaves a satin film, even on dry skin.
Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Paraffinum Liquidum, Stearic Acid, Palmitic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate, Triethanolamine, Cera Alba (Bees Wax), Cetyl Palmitate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Polyacrylamine, Steareth-10, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Tropolone, Laureth-7, Parfum (Fragrance), Aloe Babadensis Leaf Extract, Hydrolyzed Soyy Protein, Proylene Glycol.
What I think about Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre?
Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre was the only product out of the loot that isn’t easily available in Singapore, my sister got this for me from Paris. The crème is light when applied onto the skin, hydrates sufficiently without any excess grease on my oily skin. I have a variety of crèmes to choose from (like how most women select their shoes for the day, I pick out a crème) and I often pick out my Embryolisse on days when I have to put on thick layers of makeup due to the right amount of sheen. It’s no wonder this is a staple in most celebrity makeup artist’s stash!
La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo

What I think about La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo?
La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo can be applied all over the face but I only spread them on acne scars and acne. You don’t have to use too much of this product as a little goes a long way. However, I would recommend this to people with acne prone or easily clogged pores to spread on affected areas after cleansing and toning. People with thin or dry skin should use very little as it can burn when you go overboard with this.
Bioderma Sensibio H20

What I think about Bioderma Sensibio H20?
Bioderma Sensibio H20 is one of my favourite products ever! I’ve written a review on it previously, really works in removing every trace of makeup and sunblock from my face all without feeling oily. I’ve relied on it so much, I bought it in travel sizes to bring on vacations and in my personal and pro makeup kits, I’d panic if I run out of them!
So here are my latest skincare stash. I’ve added the ingredients stated on each product featured here in case you’re interested to try and/or allergic to certain formulas. Please take note that I am not concerned in using products that are “all natural” or straight from the soil/grass/river/sky. I believe that it takes some form of science to create most of the things we use or eat every day to ensure that they are safe for our body’s intake and to use it to our advantage to improve our health/features/etc. But of course, that is my point of view, don’t hate me for it.
This will not be the end of my new found love for French beauty products. In fact, I’ve found more that I’d love to try and share my thoughts with you.
