Love Bella Vida turns 10 today! That’s a decade of reviews, personal stories, travel tips and bringing you along through milestones. Funny how I started this blog privately and on a whim, right after surviving a string of traumatic events on 14th February 2012 in hopes that this date will mean more to me than turmoil and heartbreak. I wrote my very first post a week later. It was my attempt to re-write my life. Little did I know then, how far that decision would take me.

I must say that this journey has not been easy at all and I had to put up with a lot of judgement especially during the initial years publicizing the blog. This was when social media was still in it’s infancy and before the rise of influencers. I spent many nights after my 12 hour shifts writing reviews, read lots of articles to improve my writing, learning how to design and code, how to take flatlays and pose for the camera. It can get quite lonely especially when not many people understand your craft. I had colleagues ask if I’m moonlighting, relatives ask me for free stuff, friends snigger at my photos and told me to call them only when I become famous. Needless to say, they’re not my friends anymore. I eventually found like-minded friends and people in my circle know that I blog so it’s no longer a circus freakshow.

Blogging has taught me so much and I’m grateful that I’m able to look back at old thoughts that I’ve documented (and sometimes cringe at), I’m able to watch my writing, photography and style develop over these years and continue to improve. Love Bella Vida has opened so many doors and opportunities for me that I never knew was possible. I finally got Love Bella Vida into Singapore’s Top 30 Lifestyle Blogs at No.15! It’s not a great feat for some but if I’ve learned nothing else through all these years, I’ll always remember to celebrate the little things in life. This girl would’ve been so proud to see me now.
