I would like to make a special announcement on this post – My Bridesmaids.
You are without a doubt the one person that I cannot get married without! The person who has literally seen me through the very worst and very best times in my life, probably the only person who can knock some sense into my stubborn head, my partner in crime, my confidant, my comrade in war, my sister, my person. I would call you my best friend but that would be an understatement. The only other person in the universe besides Shine whom I trust will be strong enough to stand up to guard me if need be. You are a fighter and my soldier, so its no surprise that the Maid of Honour position automatically goes to you, hands down (lol) win. I love you Zizi.
My favourite bitch boy. Through all my drama over the past 7 years that we’ve been friends, you’ve stuck through it; my tears and bitchfits that you’ve had to endure. Honestly, I lost count how many times you’ve rolled your eyes and how many snarky remarks we’ve exchanged but I know you love me very much to be here by my side today still hearing all about my drama, still consoling me and still supportively bitching with me. Either way, I want you to know that despite the many interventions that we’ve had, I know that behind that laser mouth and the diva-esque persona, you have a soft spot for the people you love and you keep those feelings locked inside hoping no one can see them. But I can. You are one of the most dearest people to me Nas, you’re that friend that I can agree to disagree with but if anyone tries to hurt you, I will come after them. I love you Nas.
My sister from another mother and my fellow #2017bride! I never thought I would have the privilege to be going though this journey with you my dear Susu! All the years of going window shopping together at Vivo, looking at designer bags online and all the hugs you’ve freely given me even when I thought I don’t need them. You would always come up with the sweetest things to say or do to try to make me feel better when I’m down. I know you’ve always looked to me for advice and guidance but little do you know that at some of my lowest points in life, you have been one of my biggest support. You never failed to cheer me on, have always taken my side without batting an eyelash and I will always do the same for you. I love you Susu.
I didn’t exactly do a bridesmaid proposal because they already knew long before that I would make them part of my bridal party. So I didn’t ask, “Will you be my bridesmaids?”, I did a “Hello, you are my bridesmaids”. So here are pieces of my Love (by Chloe) to thank these 3 amazing people for putting up with me, sticking through the best and worst periods throughout our years of friendship and it’s only fitting that they stand with me on one of the happiest days in my life. According to history, the original purpose of the bridesmaids was to protect the bride and ward off evil spirits. Make sure those who take part in that day truly want to see your marriage be a success, those are the ones who will stand by you and your husband through the rough patches. I’m blessed I don’t have to look far for these people.
