I was never really a denim jeans girl when I was younger with the exception for denim shorts. That’s because I couldn’t find the right cut and fit. I didn’t like how skinny jeans clung onto my skinny legs and I hated how the baggy ones swallowed me up.
I only started to really consider wearing denim jeans when high-waisted fits came back into the scene in the 2010s. It came at the right time. By then, I’ve had 2 laparoscopy surgeries and was conscious about the scars. I was also entering my 30s and wearing denim shorts everywhere didn’t make me feel cute anymore. Why Ribcage Wide Leg Jeans?
The Levi’s Ribcage range was first launched in 2019. It’s a modern take on vintage high-waisted styles and features the highest rise (12 inches) that Levi’s has produced for women. Note: High-waisted jeans are not made for everyone. I recommend going to your nearest Levi’s to try them on as they are not stretchable. My bum and tummy is bigger than my waist and I want my jeans to be comfortable to travel, sit and squat in while still showing a silhouette so I got mine in size 29″ and cinched in the waist.
