BB and CC Creams have been around for a while but as a young lady suffering from acne throughout my twenties, I wanted the matte finish with coverage, coverage and more coverage. But as I got more into skincare, I became more concerned about all the foundation I was piling on my face. I started to look up BB Creams when they first broke into the market, however, it didn’t really do it for me.
BB Creams back then (this was in 2014) felt thick, creamy with not much coverage even though it was heavily pushed on me due to my acne issues. But even more so, they never had the right shades for us brown girls. I always looked grey and dull because BB Creams always came in lighter shades. Needless to say, I stopped using it.
Fast forward to a few months ago, as a woman in my late 30s, my prioritise when it comes to skincare and makeup has changed from a decade ago. Now, I’m more meticulous of my skincare and prefer the light and glowing skin over matte and full coverage. I decided to go back into BB Creams, surely it must have improved since a decade ago right? To my disappointment, BB Creams still came in like 4 light shades even those from high end brands!
To the Beauty Industry in Asia – c’mon, its been 10 years, do better. I almost gave up my search until I did more digging on makeup with skincare properties and got intrigued by CC Creams.

Beauty Balms and Colour Correction Creams each have benefits and it only depends on personal preference in my opinion. After years of searching for the best of these makeup with skin care properties, I finally decided to pick up a CC Cream. I’ve always had the perception that CC Creams are light coverage and because I had bad acne and marks, I didn’t even think to try it. Now, I veer towards light coverage makeup more especially while travelling or heading to the beach. Even though there are now quite a handful of brands carrying CC Creams with raving reviews, I was drawn towards the Erborian CC Cream. I was amused to see that the texture and colour started out white, like a moisturiser, but turned into the colour of your skin as you blend it in! I had to try it for myself.

Am I enjoying the Erborian CC Cream?
I’m really impressed with the Erborian CC Cream as it looks natural without caking up, blends effortlessly and has anti-aging skincare properties!
