Our Wedding Thank You Note

It’s been a while to really collect ourselves and let everything sink in. We are still waking and wondering, “Holy shit, it actually happened.” It has been an emotional journey, one that has brought moments of hurt and indecision, but an overwhelming amount of triumph and joy. In truth, it might have been possible without everyone else. But it would not have had the same value and meaning without the people involved in our lives and our hearts.

A special thanks to all our friends and family who showed us love on our day. It was, and still is, surreal to have seen the faces popping out at us in the crowd. Faces we once worked with, shared memories with and now are a part of our day. It was very humbling and joyful to see our old friends. I want to specially thank Ammu, Mario, Achaboy for coming down from Adelaide and KL. We wish we had more time to spend with you guys and cannot wait to see you guys again. Gilbert, I am so happy you came, MiAdidas days were one of a kind. To my old crew from DAC, much love and joy to see you guys.

Naga, Praga, Seraj, Shakil. I cannot thank you enough for what you guys have done. You didn’t hesitate to help and did not ask for anything in return. A lot of times, people do things for something in return. Or think that they perhaps are above the event itself. But you guys, just looked at me and said, “it’s your day, what you want, we will do”. That shows that you value the moment, the people who are to be married. More importantly, it shows that true friendship does not have a 20-page Terms and Conditions and is sincere. You showed me that you were doing it without ego and without any need for gratification. I am very honoured and salute you guys. I also must mention Ramesh and David, who on the day saw that help was needed and stepped up. Shows a lot about your hearts.

To all the cousins, wow. I am very, very proud of all of you. It is an honour to have seen all of you make the efforts to make our day as special as it was. Gracious, Gloria, Gladys, Jaslyn, Bryan, Timothy, Thaddy, Theophy, Maghila, Pramila, Thushy, Aby. You guys deserve extra praise for the immense efforts that you put in to not only make this day special for me, but for us. Michael, you mad fella. I will never know how you managed to ride without a damn working clutch and turn up alive! You barely slept yet you put all your efforts to make our wedding as special as it was. By the way, your photography skills are amazing! We have a lot of love for all of you.

Nas, Susu, Zilin. We will never be able to express how grateful we will always be that we had you as our bridal party. Nas, you helped with so much and gave so many amazing ideas. Even when we asked you not to trouble yourself, you volunteered for so much and even refused when we wanted to compensate you in some way. You always spoke to us and never once allowed our crazy stress to deviate your efforts. Susu, you openly showed your love and was never afraid or too proud, always there to make sure the bride was the priority and that she was happy. I know that you did what you did, not as a friend, but as a sister. Can’t wait for your special day! Zilin, you have known the bride for the longest and have been with her through so many ups and downs. I will always remember how you helped with arranging the proposal. And now we are married! You were the Maid of Honour as it was an honour for us to have you be that person on our special day. You always made sure that the Bride was never put in second place and made sure everything was about the bride and to honour her on her day. We hope that you guys enjoyed your stay at the hotel as a small token of our immense appreciation and gratitude.

To Joy and Dom. Ok you guys are too young to know what I’m writing and who knows if Facebook will still be the ‘it’ thing when you guys are old enough to read this and understand. We couldn’t have asked for a better and cuter flower girl and pageboy! Matthew, Jennifer, Grace. Thank you so so much for going out of your way and allowing your children to be part of our wedding.

Pravind, you definitely lived up to the title of Best Man. You not only have been my brother, you made sure that you were and are a brother to your Anni. I am very proud of you. To all my mothers, all seven of you. I will not say much as I do not have enough words to accurately say what you mean to me and what you have done for me. Thank you all for showing us what the love of family can do.

To all our vendors. Thomson Wedding Collection, thank you for the amazing bridal gown and photography! We did not think that we could have had such an amazing experience with a bridal company. We genuinely cannot find anything to fault in your services. We highly recommend you to anyone who wants to have an amazing bridal experience. Ekhay Tailors, thank you for putting together a smashing suit for me and for the groomsmen. Joyce Ler, thank you for helping the bride to look amazing for both the ceremony and reception. You did amazing work. JMC, absolutely stunned as to how you managed to do a wedding video the way that you did. It took our breath away and you are worth it.

We must thank The Fullerton Hotel for the amazing experience that we had. From the lodging, to the reception, to the food and to even all the impromptu requests that we had. You not only answered them, you surpassed our expectations. Violette, thank you so much for being the one we coordinated with from day one. You provided so much and gave us ample suggestions and advice. Ben, masterful service by you and your banquet team. I will always be grateful for what you did for me and my special request. It will always be an everlasting memory for my wife and I, to be sitting at the balcony of the Fullerton Suite, absorbing the amazing view and to have all the fireworks in the sky. A special thanks to the housekeeping team as well, for enduring 2 days of immense partying and cleaning up!

There are many more to thank. And we will spend the rest of our lives to show how the love we have been shown, will be reciprocated. Even if life brings us to different paths, it will not take away the magnitude of the efforts by everyone involved. Life is about choices, Love is sacrifice. Make good choices, make selfless sacrifices.
