The first of my string of good news. We have decided on a small and intimate reception at The Fullerton Hotel for family and very close friends.
It took us quite a while to decide on the location according to our budget and what we really wanted for our reception. We have both initially thought of holding it at a country club but decided against it after realising how it was not conducive for an intimate wedding setting (their minimum number of pax was about 200). We then thought of holding it at a restaurant which caters to a smaller number but I needed a room to get ready in which they provided but only for a limited time and looked dingy, lol. I was dreaming of a pretty boudoir where I can have my hair and makeup done and hang my dress by the window to be captured in photos for our wedding album.
At this point, I started to feel lousy and talked to Susu who suggested I have a look at ACM and maybe I can book the suite at the Fullerton near by. I had flashes of the times I sat across the Cavanagh Bridge with my lunch and the many times I’ve listened to the bells chime from the Victoria Theatre. I told Shine about her idea and gave ACM a call. Unfortunately, their reservations could only be made 6months prior to our date which we did not wanna risk. I felt crushed. And then he said, “Let’s have a look at what Fullerton will offer”. What? Was he serious? Staying in the Fullerton has always been a dream for me let alone hold our Wedding Reception there, omg… are you serious? *Happy tears.
The next day at our appointment at TWC, Gemma asked if we had decided on a venue and told us about Fullerton’s Straits Room if we’re thinking of a small reception! I think Gemma is secretly a mind reader (thank you dear)! Shine and I were really surprised at the package and he decided to make an appointment to view the place.
Since that day, we were hooked and Shine had already made up his mind without even asking me if I was ok with it, lol! Well, he didn’t need to, I loved it even before I got to see it.
We were assigned to Violette as our event Co-ordinator and were able to see an actual set up. We decided on the following as the space for our lunch reception.

Our package includes a stay in one of their suites. We decided to take the one with a view of the city skyline and the big balcony for the after-party.

I must say that our experience with the Fullerton from the get-go has been amazing so far. I’m really happy and excited now you guys!
Thank you baby for making me a happy bride, Violette for the great service catering to all our concerns, Gemma for your recommendation, friends and respective family members for your love and support, I’m truly blessed. Till the next entry and more good news to come.
PS: As much as we would love to invite everyone we’ve known over the past 31 years in our lives for our Wedding Reception, it is not within our means and budget so we apologize in advance and really hope for your kind understanding. This is our own private celebration to commemorate and thank the people who have given us their utmost support and love throughout both our lives. However, do note that we still love you, our Wedding Ceremony would be held in the church we attend and will be inviting everyone to join us there. More details on that when it’s confirmed.
