Eastlink Building Progress (Part I)

I’ve heard from our future neighbours in the Eastlink Facebook group that the machines are finally coming into the bare empty lots! So as I was in the train to Shine’s place, I was eager to see them for myself. Our neighbourhood will be located in between Sembawang and Yishun MRT Station so we are able to see a full view of the progress from just sitting on the train.

Finally! The HDB blocks in Canberra Eastlink will be relatively short – 11 and 12 storeys – so we are predicting (and hoping) that it shouldn’t take too long to build. Can’t wait till the blocks, playgrounds and food centres start popping up *happy tears.

I will be updating the building progress here, focusing on mainly Eastlink II and our block. If you’re taking the Red line to or from Jurong East, our neighbourhood is right smack in the middle of Sembawang and Yishun where the future Canberra MRT station will be located. For future neighbours who feel its too out of the way at the moment, you can always refer to Ownhome.sg for updates.

I hope this has been helpful to my dear friends and neighbours. Can’t wait for that BBQ get together we’ve planned once we’ve moved in and when our neighbourhood is up and ready!

Updated 16 March 2016:
One of our kind neighbours actually took the time to go down to the site to update us on the progress.

Photo courtesy of our very helpful neighbour, thank you so much!I hope KTP Consultants and Nanjing Dadi (China company?! 😱) don’t eff up their job and give us so many defects like previous Punggol/Sengkang cases! And please don’t throw cement down our drains ah, I don’t want our pipes to burst and upstairs people shit to cover our living room floor 💩😡😤🔪!!! Eastlink kampong will not stand for such problems ok, warn you first.

Anyways, shout out to all my new neighbours for being so on and helpful with the updates. Truly feel as if we are neighbours already 🙆🏽🙆🏽🙆🏽.

PS: I decided not to write a separate post on the building contractor although it came to our knowledge some time later because I feel it goes along the same topic as the start of the building foundation. Anyways, its my blog and my memories, I think I shouldn’t have to explain myself here.
