Try not to scream but I got invited to NEXT IN VOGUE 2025 for the 2 day event. I did when I received it. On top of that, I got to visit Vogue Singapore‘s new office. I had to pinch myself to check if I was dreaming.

As a Y2K teenager, I was raised by magazines. And the mecca of them all was Vogue. I would save my pocket money and sometimes a meal to buy a copy especially if I loved the celebrity on the cover or run to the library to borrow it. I would sit in my room and read it from page to page religiously and aspire to dress like the women in the ads. It was where I learned about the designers from exclusive interviews, the history behind a garment, how it was made, the latest trends, styling tips and inspiration for the woman I want to be when I’m older. I didn’t manage to go to design school because I couldn’t reach the aggregate score (far from it). “If only you study your school books like how you study your magazines!“, my mother would scream. It took a while but I guess it manifested itself.

It was a memorable evening in my Givenchy tuxedo dress I scored from 2nd Street this year. Funny how I was waiting for the right event to wear it to. Now it’ll be sealed in my Look Book as the dress I wore to Vogue. Ok, stop, I don’t wanna cry.
