IDS Journey (Part III): Laser Treatment and Results

IDS Journey (Part III): Laser Treatment and Results

Wrapping up my 4 month IDS Journey with a recap of my experience and how the process has helped with my confidence.

For my last session, DR. Ian Tan suggested the Pico Laser Treatment, a newer type of laser used by IDS. Pico-Laser refers to picosecond, which is one trillionth of a second and are approximately ten times faster than the traditional nanosecond Q-switched lasers, working more efficiently in targeting specific tissues with less surrounding tissue damage. Pico-Lasers have also been found to be effective in treating skin texture problems such as acne scars and wrinkles, due to its ability to stimulate collagen at deeper layers of the skin, which is the result of stimulating the body’s natural healing process and with no downtime. Hence, I was still able to go on with my life albeit with a mask because covid.

The entire process was swift and painless! After cleansing, a numbing cream was applied on my face and wearing goggles, the procedure started. I would have fallen asleep if not for the sound and the faint smell of something getting fried, which were actually my oily pores. The whole process took like only 10mins, I kid you not! I was so surprised! It was faster than a toilet break, lol!

I continued to follow my IDS Skincare Regime with the products specially prescribed for my skin issues and even provided replenishment. Here was the effects to my skin after the procedure.

There were some scabbing but almost all fell off after 5 days. I did not wear makeup for a week after the procedure, just my IDS skin care and UV Protector. Pico Laser is mild treatment with no downtime so you can see visible improvement in just 1 session but some may require several sessions. Make an appointment with IDS for a consultation with Dr Ian Tan.
