I have never been interest in science until I got into skincare from my days as a Beauty Advisor. It’s been a decade since and I still find myself amused when I geek over compounds and molecules and what it can do for the skin. Who knew the girl who fell asleep in Chemistry class will one day be able to pick out the difference in formula and it’s benefits? For the love of skincare (and vanity), I guess.
Copper Peptides are not new to the skincare world but I personally feel that it’s extremely under-rated compared to Retinol and Vitamin C. My guess is it’s not as easy to make and often comes with a higher price tag. But why? Let’s break it down.

Why Copper Peptides?
Copper Peptides has been shown in studies to stimulate collagen in the body which can help with elasticity, firmness, skin structure, fine lines, wrinkles and heal wounds.
Copper Peptides are anti-inflammatory and they increase the antioxidants activity in your cells so it helps in preventing free radical damage. It also has the ability to penetrate beneath the epidermis because the molecules are small enough to penetrate the skin and works in the regeneration of tissue. So adding Copper Peptides to your skin care will also help to repair sun damage.
This combination in a bottle sounds like just what my aging and acne-prone skin needs.
What is the difference between Peptides and Copper Peptides?
Peptides and Copper Peptides are related but distinct compounds, and they serve different functions in the body and skincare products.
Peptides:
- Are short chains of amino acids, which are the building blocks of proteins. Amino acids are connected by peptide bonds.
- Can be naturally occurring or synthesized, and they play various roles in the body, including as signalling molecules, hormones, and enzymes.
- Are often used for their potential to promote collagen production, which can help improve the skin’s texture and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Different peptides may have different functions in skincare, and they can target specific skin concerns, such as firming, hydrating, or brightening.
Copper Peptides:
- Are a specific type of peptide that contains copper ions bonded to the peptide molecule.
- Gained attention in skincare for their potential to support wound healing, stimulate collagen production, and act as antioxidants.
- Often used in anti-aging skincare products due to their claimed ability to improve skin firmness and reduce the signs of aging.
- Are also believed to have anti-inflammatory properties and may help with skin regeneration.
The Ordinary Multi-Peptide + Copper Peptides 1% Serum

As my first introduction to Copper Peptides, I decided to go with my trusted The Ordinary and since I’ve experienced using The Ordinary’s Buffet before, I decided to upgrade to the Multi-Peptide + Copper Peptides 1% Serum since it has the same benefits of The Ordinary’s Buffet with addition to Copper Peptides. And, it’s a more affordable option compared to the other Copper Peptide Serums in the market.

Am I enjoying The Ordinary Multi-Peptide + Copper Peptides 1% Serum?

After a month of using The Ordinary Multi-Peptide + Copper Peptides 1% Serum, I could see a difference. After coming home from travelling, my skin usually purges and sometimes, I can get one or two cystic acne but because I diligently applied The Ordinary Multi-Peptide + Copper Peptides 1% Serum, the acne that was about to form on my face didn’t end up happening. I also noticed that my skin didn’t seem as dehydrated that it normally is when I’m having a busy long day and may not have drank as much water as I should.
The only issue that I don’t like about The Ordinary Multi-Peptide + Copper Peptides 1% Serum is that it feels very tacky on the skin despite applying a few drops however, after applying moisturiser, I mist my Caudalie Beauty Elixir all over my face and that fixes the issue. I skip the misting particularly during my night time routine as I don’t mind the tackiness on my face if it means I’m going to have great results for my under eyes and skin but just take note if this may be an issue for you.
Overall, I will repurchase The Ordinary Multi-Peptide + Copper Peptides 1% Serum for it’s all purpose properties, the convenience and for the fast and great results considering that it is quite affordable.
