I’ve had an obsession with charm bracelets since forever. So much that I’ve built a Pinterest board dedicated to it. I was inspired by old Hollywood stars, First Ladies and Princess of the 20th century, who’ve had charm bracelets that told their personal stories and I’ve aspired to have my own. I’m still looking to add more to my collection. So when I heard that I can build my own vintage charm bracelet from scratch at Echo Vintage, I took it as a sign.

Choose from an array of designs from copper with gold or silver plating and attach your own charms that date back to the 1940s to 1970s mostly from United Kingdom. Don’t worry if you find it hard to attach them, you will be guided through the process.
Price:
Base (Chain + 3 Charms) $69
Add-On 1 Charm $19/each
Add-On 3+ Charms $15/each

After what felt like hours, I narrowed down the search to these. It was hard to pick 6 pieces as I plan to fill out my bracelet. Ultimately, these were the ones I chose.

Hand: When I was in London visiting the V&A Museum and Portobello Market, I noticed a number of vintage jewelry and designs with this hand on them. This one is picking up a diamond so it felt personal.
Cherub: I love angels and especially cherubs, it’s like they’re watching over me, so this was definitely going on the bracelet.
Key: This long key reminds me of the Tiffany pendant I wanted so badly back in 2010. Didn’t manage to own one (because the price, oophf!) but hey, I got this vintage one that resembles it and thought it will go well with the heart lock.
Heart Lock: I’ve been in search of a charm that resembled a place I use to work at when I was younger but could not find anything close. Until this lock except that it’s shaped as a heart. I decided to place it next to the key.
Rose Stamp: The rose is my favorite flower.
Ornamental Bauble: The only one with no particular meaning, just that I thought it added a vintage touch and made the bracelet complete.

My jewelry mean a lot to me as they carry my story and have been my constant because they will always fit me through weight fluctuation and meaningful pieces never go out of style. That’s the biggest life and sustainability hack, I guess.
