Tasik Cermin is a hidden lake within the natural limestone hills of Ipoh, Perak. Tasik Cermin means Mirror Lake in Malay and it’s pretty obvious that it got it’s name through the reflection of the limestone hills on the pristine lake.

The area use to be an iron quarry but it was left abandoned and collected rain over time which resulted in this beautiful outcome. Tasik Cermin is divided into 2 sides – Tasik Cermin 1 and Tasik Cermin 2.
Tasik Cermin 1

Tasik Cermin 1 is more popular of the two sites as there is more to do here on foot. Walk through a 90m long tunnel of the former iron quarry and it will lead you to a floating deck and admire the stunning limestone hills up close. You can take a boat from the platform with a Tasik Cermin Guide who will take you around the waters of Tasik Cermin 1.

Tasik Cermin 2

Tasik Cermin 2 was opened later and is fairly new to the public. Tasik Cermin 2 is only accessible by boat and you must be accompanied with a Tasik Cermin Guide as this entire area is submerged in water. Your boat will take you through a 120m long tunnel revealing a hidden world at the other side of the lake where you may be able to spot monkeys in their habitat, rare fruits used in local delicacies and be immersed in nature.

Things to Note
- The best time to visit Tasik Cermin is in the mornings to avoid the scorching afternoon heat. However, if you can bear the heat, afternoons tend to give the best reflection due to the bright sunlight.
- Try to avoid visiting too late into the evening or overcast days as it may get dark and you may not get to see the reflection which is the highlight of Tasik Cermin.
- It is crowded at most hours of the day so be prepared to wait for boats.
- Your phone service may be affected.
