For my recent visit to Taipei, I had the opportunity to stay in Regent Taipei, a luxurious 5-Star hotel located at Zhongshan district. The Regent Taipei is under the Silks Hotel Group (former FIH Regent Group) that has hotels located around Taiwan.

Tai Pan Room

I stayed in the luxurious Tai Pan Room that also included access to the Tai Pan Lounge. I had a personal butler who escorted me to my room and showed me around, now that’s what I call VIP Treatment!

I thought that was as top-notch as it could get but I realised that they had a little surprise for me in this Emperor’s Chest – a box of traditional Taiwanese treats and a personal note.

The room was so spacious and after traveling all the way here, this comfy bed was just calling out to me but I had to shower first. Then, I got very excited when I saw the bathroom. It was huge and so inviting! You know how much I love baths. And the toiletries were by Diptyque, guys, my favourite! There is a TV in the bathroom too! I think I spent all my time in the bathroom, it was amazing.

Dining

Each of the Regent Taipei‘s in-house restaurants has its unique specialities and atmosphere that provide the finest in dining with unrivalled service. Here are my experiences at The Brasserie, Silks House, Curious Table Bar and access to Tai Pan Lounge.

Tai Pan Lounge

Since I stayed in the Tai Pan Room, I was granted access to the Tai Pan Lounge. It is open for 24hours and offers buffet breakfast, afternoon tea, cocktails and all day coffee and tea. Regent Taipei partnered with Curious to bring you these yummy healthy snacks and canapes. You know your girl can’t resist canapes. They were so good but I tried to keep it classy and not finish the whole tray…

The Brasserie

After a restful sleep, head to The Brasserie for a buffet-style breakfast where you will be spoilt for choice. From Western classics bread, sausage, ham, eggs to healthy green options to traditional cuisines such as congee and Taiwanese Onion Bread, you are sure to have a hearty breakfast.

Curious Table

Curious Table, under the Curious brand, is a speakeasy bar located within Regent Galleria. Fancy going shopping and catching a cocktail after. Do note that you have to make reservations in advance.

They have unique list of drinks so we got the bartender to surprise us. I had the Million Dollar. It tasted so delicious like fruit juice, I hardly tasted the alcohol but it hits you later, so drink with caution, lol.

Silks House

Silks House is Regent Taipei‘s signature fine-dining Cantonese Restaurant. Upon entering, you will be greeted by rows of these glass panels and will be escorted to your seat. Note to dress appropriately (no slippers and shorts), make reservations in advance and be prepared to feast like an emperor.

Around Regent Taipei

We got to tour around Chifeng with the village chief. It was just a short walking distance away from Regent Taipei. During the tour, we learned that Chifeng has been around for over a century and was once known for fixing automobile parts which has become part of the village’s identity. You can still find some of these automobile shops alongside quaint little shops selling street food, knick-knacks from a bygone era and hipster cafes, a popular hang-out for the young and old alike.

You can also find high-end boutiques, high-street fashion and shopping malls with the metro station nearby. And should you need to do a ton of shopping for your village back at home, call on the Regent Taipei Butler service for assistance.

Having a fan-girl moment, sitting in the Presidential Suite overlooking the view of the city; the same one Lady Gaga stayed in during her time in Regent Taipei.

Before coming to Regent Taipei, I had predicted that I was going to enjoy my stay here as Regent Hotel is renowned around the world but I was impressed at exactly how luxurious it is! You get A-List celebrity treatment from the Butler Service, Michelin Star & grand feasts, great private amenities and still enjoy the perks Taipei city has to offer with it’s convenient location near to metro stations, local villages, markets and shopping malls.
