Have you tried Omakase Japanese fine dining yet? Well, if you have not, Taiga Dining at Conrad Singapore Orchard sets the bar high.
Entrance to the restaurant is through a secret doorway behind this mural reminiscent of the rocks cape of Kōchi Prefecture, the hometown of Master Chef Taiga Kanekuni. The journey starting at these ‘foothills’ through a narrow crevice in the mountain that leads to reveal the 13-seater sushi counter at the heart of the ‘cave’.

Master Chef Taiga Kanekuni is the shokunin behind 2022’s most anticipated and exquisite sushi-ya, at the Conrad Singapore Orchard. The significance of Shokunin Kishitsu, or the craftsman’s spirit, is in its simplicity and passion. He is not concerned about chasing grandeur but is dedicated to perfecting and honouring his craft, hence, he presides over the taste, flavour, texture and composition. From the 13-seater sushi-ya, assembled to be reminiscent of Kōchi, you will be able to see the Master Chef shokunin at his element.

It was definitely an unforgettable gastronomical experience! It’ll make a smooth flex for your next date (you’re welcome), an intimate gossip session with your girlfriend or a nice surprise for Mum.
I love that it will never get too crowded thanks to the 13 seater sushi-ya, you can taste the high quality ingredients made by Master Chef Taiga and the ambience makes me feel like I’ve travelled to Kōchi with the attention to detail and surprise elements.
