Fu Lin Bar & Kitchen

Going for drinks after work but craving for Yong Tau Fu at the same time? Located just across the Thian Hock Keng Temple at Telok Ayer Street, Fu Lin Bar & Kitchen is the place to go! The restaurant is renouned for it’s delicous Yong Tau Fu and the atmosphere is a fusion of industrial and oriental complete with memorabilias of Mao Zedong as its signature.

If you’re around Telok Ayer Street in the day, you would know that Fu Lin is very packed with customers from the nearby Central Business District and the area that serves the ingredients of their very popular Yong Tau Foo turns into a bar in the evenings. Personally, I enjoyed the ambience in the evening because it’s more relaxed and I get to have the best of both worlds – Yong Tau Foo and cocktails! We were informed that the dishes are specially made by and for Fu Lin and that the boss tastes each dish on the menu to make sure that the standards are met. Such attention and pride did not go in vain, the taste is legendary. Despite not being very hungry, I lapped up most of the plates especially dipping the Yong Tau Foo in their signature Fu Lin Noodle soup that is a thick brown flavourful base, making both dishes a very good pair.Fu Lin Noodles $4Legendary Yong Tau Foo $8Muar Otah $9Truffle Tofu $9Enoki Mushroom Fries $8Crispy Pork Belly $12Chargrilled Iberico Pork $15

These cocktails are custom made by Fu Lin’s Bar and not listed in the menu but you can request for them at $20++ each and taste great, some are quite unique too particularly Professor Nutty and like the name suggests, has hints of hazelnut in it. Some of my favourites are Berry Berries, The Lady, Buah Long Long and Galaxy.Irene is an awesome photographer and I’m a big fan of her food photography. Here are some of the photos of our drinks she took during our food-tasting. Take a look at her review of Fulin Bar & Kitchen at Berries, Blue Frog, The Lady, Professor NuttyBuah Long LongGalaxy
My most favourite drink of all was definitely Galaxy with its mixture of Blue Pea Tea Solution, Vodka and Limejuice and it glitters when you swirl it! How can you not be impressed? It’s definitely my kinda drink.

Fu Lin Bar & Kitchen is comfort food meets chill and knock back a couple of drinks. Its a great place to bring friends visiting Singapore after a tour around the city or to hang out after work with the collegues and what better way to complete the day than with a nice warm plate of noodles, Yong Tau Fu and a glittery cocktail.
