It’s been awhile since I’ve done a skincare report. A really long while actually. I’ve been meaning to share with you one of my favourite products since – Caudalie Beauty Elixir.
Since I left Lauder last year and said goodbye to my readily available supply of the Advance Night Repair Serum, I’ve been searching high and low for a replacement that would keep my skin clear but won’t leave a hole in my wallet. I’ve been doing quite an extensive research on serums and read heaps of reviews on the many that are available in the market. It was so hard to choose because I did not want to fall for fancy advertising and by that time, I have been using Advance Night Repair for two years daily, how was I going to stop? Can anything else top my ANR? I didn’t have much of a choice, either find something else or spend my entire part-time pay check on a bottle every month.
I came across Caudalie while reading about French beauty products and was intrigued that it can be used as a facial mist, a toner or a serum. Plus point is most reviews claim to be great for oily/combi skin. I’ve always been quite sceptical about 3-in-1 products but after reading the mostly stellar reviews and seeing how its sold at Sephora, I went to give it a try.
Inspired by the ‘elixir of youth’ used by Queen Isabelle of Hungary, this skincare visibly smoothes features, tightens the appearance of pores and provides a burst of radiance to the complexion. Against animal testing.
Grape, Orange Blossom, Rose, Organic Balm Mint, Rosemary, 0% Parabans, Phenoxyethanol, 100% Natural Fragrance.
Spritz it all around your face and pat the product into your skin gently.
It can be used as a toner/mist/serum. I mainly use it day and night before applying moisturiser. Since I’ve been using ANR for a long while, I introduced my skin to the Caudalie Beauty Elixir gradually. I started by using it in the day first and ANR at night. After awhile seeing how well my skin took to it, I decided to give it a go at night too. I’ve since fully switched to my Caudalie Beauty Elixir. My wallet is happier.
I’ve used bottles of it. The only down side is that it has a sort of medicinal scent which reminds me of cut grass but I somehow came to love it, its gives the fresh clean feel. Best news of all – it works so well on my oily/combi skin that my skin is really not as greasy anymore! The big bottle of Caudalie Beauty Elixir (100ml) lasts me about 3 months and that’s because I drench my face with it day and night, yours would probably last longer. The smaller one (30ml) is great for first time users who would like to give it a try first. Now I keep a small bottle in my handbag as a face mist and a big bottle at home.
